I might add that this complex is basically an adaptive re-use of the old 1951 Carnivora building.
And then it won the AZA Exhibit Award.

I think you are thinking of Big Cat Falls. This complex was built sometime in the late 80s/early 90s.

Neither area is award-winning in my book....

the amur leopard & snow leopard were both in big cat falls. though i didnt see the amur leopard. Arizona Docent did you by chance go to the philly zoo before 2007. cause 2007 is when big cat falls opened. i cant believe they had these 2 species of big cats at one time in carnivore kingdom:eek:. all the exhibits are too small.

I have been twice. The first time was the summer that Big Cat Falls opened, which is the reason I went. (Second time was a year and a half ago on a layover to England). So yes Big Cat Falls was open and there was a leopard in one of the old Carnivore Kingdom exhibits (and it was way too small for a leopard). When I went the second time, I think that exhibit was empty.
