Does anyone know for sure which Cheetahs are on-show at the moment?

When I last visited the South Africans (A. j. jubatus) were in the front exhibits and the North Africans (A. j. soemmeringi) in the off-show areas. This time all the Cheetahs in the on-show exhibits looked very pale in colour (more like the soemmeringi) so we were wondering if they'd switched.
According to Dr. Marker, plans are being made right now to reintroduce (African stock) cheetahs into India and Russia.

Hmmm. I'd still rather see much more concerted efforts on 'proper' Asian Cheetahs, even if not a full taxon, that doesn't mean they're the same. Of course, that's not necessarily feasible given the political complicatiosn surrounding Iran.

There is a concerted effort to save the Iranian cheetahs as well. Dr Marker stated that they hope (through conservation efforts) to double their number in the wild over the next ten years.

For those who don't know the numbers, that means increasing from 100 to 200 animals (or maybe she said 250?).

Now we are 10 years later and still multiple cheetah subspecies are recognized, though the number has been reduced to 4.
