Holy crap - that exhibit is enormous!!!!!

This is a fantastic exhibit.

I have one question though. What do they do in the winter. As a fellow Midwesterner, I know our winters can be quite brutal.

Not quite as brutal as your Minnesota winters

The entire Africa complex is open in the winter, and many of the animals (especially large carnivores) will come out. They all have access to both indoor and outdoor exhibits in the winter. When I met up with "team tapir" a few weeks ago, they seemed surprised there was no indoor viewing. I am a little disappointed about that too.
