@marmolady Galatea’s infant will have a strong Western influence as she’s purebred and I believe Sandali is mostly Western via Snowy. It appears Tom and Yoka were Western, which if so means Snowy was purebred Western - and so were Boyd, Gombe etc.
@marmolady Same here. With regards to Taronga’s troop, we’ve identified Susie as Central based on her capture location and I’d say it’s likely Fifi was too based on the size of Jojo, Kuma, Lisa etc.
@Zoofan15 Jojo was phenotypically much more reminiscent of a P.t. verus, so I would assume he was a hybrid. I would be so interested in seeing images of Fifi in her youth.
@marmolady I’ll have to check my records but I believe it was Bobby and Biddy who arrived as infants together, indicating they were likely sourced from the same troop. Their son Danny was a small male, so if I was to take a guess then Fifi (Central) and Bobby (Western).
@Zoofan15 I would guess that to be correct, especially considering Biddy’s daughters Spitter and Bianca had a very verus/western look. I can’t remember if I added a picture or two of Bianca to the gallery from when I visited Singapore Zoo, but if not I’ll have to do so.
@marmolady Sutu looked like a small female from the photo I have of her as an adolescent. This is supported by Shona’s small size and Samantha’s average size - compared to the large S family chimps. This suggests her sire (assumed to be Bobby) could have been Western.
