Excuse me, I suggested maned Wolf, and I see that enclosure on average 2 or 3 times a month. It's easy large enough, maybe not by Chester zoos standards when compared to African wild dogs, but then again they did recently hold Cheetah in this same enclosure.

I've seen Maned Wolf in exhibits of that size - or indeed smaller - in several collections! Considering said species is not all that dissimilar in size to a cheetah - the last taxon displayed within this exhibit - I am not sure where your incredulity about this being a feasible species lies?

But it was nothing like this - it was sprawling with lots of tall (grass and bushes). I am talking about the one with a viewing glass in a Yurt and then a boardwalk that goes around.

It is indeed; it has held cheetah for the last year or so. The exhibit to which you refer still holds cheetah however - this exhibit was temporarily used to hold a mother and her subadult offspring in order to free up space in the main exhibit I believe. At the time of your visit the exhibit held Southern Cassowary.
Now I'm the one whose is confused. I've been following this thread assuming this enclosure was recently vacated by the servals, despite them never being mentioned. Is the old serval enclosure on the 'other' side of the anteaters, closer to the rest of the zoo? I think I may have missed this one last summer.

Yeah, the old serval exhibit is opposite the Bush Dog exhibit and - just to add to the confusion - both used to contain Cheetah in decades past, and once again contains Cheetah at present!

The original cheetah enclosure was the right hand side of the current bushdog enclosure, provided that you have your back to the canal. The other part, next to the Nissen Hut aviary (which is my pet hate), held an Arctic fox for many years.
