It does but seeing as I know the person that posted personally and the Curator,it could be that they are both trying to sell us a Red Herring,as it wouldn't be the first time they have done that to this site!!!
Well if we are playing this game Addax, they were in the offing a few years back, would love to see them at Chester, esp if it seems that are phasing out the Oryx.....
Talking of Oryx a small herd of Arabian Oryx would be nice....
I could be wrong, but somehow I do not think they would have that many boulders if it was for antelope like Addax. I mean on the left it goes entirely across the "path" and they would want to leave that open for hoofstock. Also the vegetation (at least the smaller plants left of the tree) would be stripped immediately. It seems to me better suited for a mid sized carnivore.
Anyway it is fun to guess. The dirt and boulders to me are reminiscent of a desert scene. Caracal? Brown hyena? Sahara cheetah (hey I can dream)?
So funny reading guesses from people who might not have even seen the enclosure. I'm going for... hippo. Oh, no, wait, maybe some diminutive kamchatka bears, they'd like the rocks.

Who are you suggesting hasn't seen the enclosure? I have many times since it held Cheetah on my first visit I think in 1991. Cougar obviously wasn't a sensible suggestion, or the large antelope mentioned, but any dog, hyaena or small cat would be possible surely?
