Serval enclosure, Lion Terraces

Does anyone know what Cat was previousley held in this enclosure? A Leopard of some species would be my guess. Also the enclosure that used to hold the Amur Leopards do they now hold the primate species?

Thanks Redpanda. In its day London had a very good Cat Collection in the New Lion Terraces.

When I visted in November 2001, I remember seeing Lions, Tigers, Amur Leopards, Clouded Leopards, Lynx, Sand Cats and Red Pandas in the Cat Terraces. I think the zoo had a collection like this in there till about 2005/6.

When I visited in 2004 the collection consisite of Amur Leopards,Sumatran Tigers,Asian Lions and Sand Cats - Shortly after that in 2006 I think the Amur Leopards where no longer held - they died im quite sure. However I think London are still very into their Amur Leopard Conservation Programmes and I think they used to control they studbook they might still do.

I visited at about the same time as Zambar and remember lions, tigers, lynx, sand cats, red pandas and, according to the guide, maned wolves in this area. Don't recall either of the leopards though?

I dont recal London having Clouded Leopards that recently either - but they definately had Amur Leopards. London where until as recently as 2006/7 Studbook co-ordinaters along with Moscow Zoo and where very heavily into Conservation projects.
I am unsure about whether they still hold this title but it would'nt suprise me if they do but they are waiting till after refurbishments to get anymore Leopards but I really dont know.

Whereabouts were the leopards kept?

Im really unsure but definately in the New Lion Terrace's they are in the guidebook and I have a photo somewhere.
When I visited I cant remember any Monkeys in the Cat Enclosure's so possibly those? - If i remember correctly there were 2 enclosure's but we only saw 1 Leopard perhaps the last London Leopard?

Maned Wolves were kept in half of the old Wolf Wood which is now Meet the Monkeys. They were really active when I visited.

I remember seeing sleeping amur and clouded leopards, and also remember them being mentioned on the zoo's website at the time! I think the spider monkeys and macaques are held in their old enclosures now.
