Actually the size of this enclosure is pretty small, but certainly far better for the pigs than the former residents (elephants, or rhinos). You can see an other part of the exhibit in the other photo, this one has a small pool for the pigs ... The herd contains 3.6 animals.
Yeah, there are the Bactrian Camels in the other paddock of the Casson Pavilion, and earlier they were together with Llamas and Alpacas ... maybe currently as well ...
With the recent demolition of the Parrot House at London Zoo, I wonder if some zoo fans were secretly glad that it was not heritage listed. Maybe we should start a poll. Which construction project is uglier?

This is really getting old now. The listed buildings at London (whatever one's personal view of their aesthetics) have been heritage listed for a REASON - they are of significant historical value, either zoo history or architectural history, or indeed both. That is why they should stay - aesthetic value, being just as subjective and even more subject to fashion, is not the only criterion of worth.

All four installations are of historical/architectural/cultural value. The Penguin Pool is probably the hardest to fill appropriately with animals -- what about Coatis or something in that line? Did Penguins actually do all that badly in it anyway? The Tecton Roundhouse is at least versatile; as the Zoo has demonstrated, you can put almost anything in there. The Mappin Terraces I love, and it's a thousand pities there are longer mountain sheep and goats on the London Skyline. As for the Casson, I don't think it's ever really found what it does best, but it keeps trying. Sorry to ramble on, but I get a bit obsessive about London Zoo's buildings and history.....
