Tigercage at Twin Vally Zoo
@zoogiraffe: while it may very well look like a British zoo, it is a very tiny (25 acres) collection of animals in the Province of Ontario. It is a fairly unknown zoo, and is only open for about 5 months out of the year. This particular tiger exhibit looks atrocious, as it is far too small and offers nothing that is even remotely commendable.

ZG, I think I know where you're thinking of, although if it is where I'm thinking of then it would house a smaller species that it's ok to house ;)
You have an nerve to still bash British zoos on a thread about a VERY low standard Canadian zoo snowleopard :o;)

Well that all may well be true but how can you preach to us about the state of some of the collections in the U.K.When you have a collection with such a sub-standard enclosure as this in your own country!!!

Yes, Chester and London and Edinburgh and Paignton all look just like this. Oh no, WAIT...

Size isn't everything. It's what you do with it. ;)

It is a fairly unknown zoo,

That's alright then - I guess it doesn't count as a rubbish Canadian zoo if no-ones heard of it?

and is only open for about 5 months out of the year.

Not sure why that's relevant. Although I suppose it means less opportunity to raise cash.

Yes. So I will now post snide comments on every Canadian zoo picture on this site. Or would that be unfair? :D

I only just read that part but 25 acres isn't really that small, I can think of some good zoos that are much smaller than that.

True. Newquay and Bristol are both considerably less than that and are superb.

Hey, I came from germany to canada and looked what zoos are there to visit and one was in commercialstuff omnipresent: Twin Vally Zoo

And next to Torono is a zoo very alike to this, but it was closed when i was there. "Jungle-Cat-World" or so its called.
