Polar Bear

Inukshuk (M) followed Aurora (F) over to the small pool. She went in and they nodded back and forth at each other before he jumped in too. After rolling around in the water together Aurora climbed out and went back over the hill, Inukshuk following.

I didn't see her but this was quite early. All three were out Monday but Aurora stayed alone over by the small pool right thru the keeper talk and got no treats.

Funny, I was also there Monday, and Nikita was playing with the other two in the water before leaving. Than on Friday, she was a no show.

I have never seen one of them in the field yard's pool. I never figured it was that deep.

I was surprised to see it was deep enough for them to be underwater at the same time - previously thought it was for drinking and wading.

I've seen them in there before, but it's not often that they're over there.

Actually they are frequently over there. I've watched them often while at the reindeer exhibit. Inukshuk is over there when he has to be separated from the females, and Nikita was over there at one time when they wanted Inukshuk and Aurora to mate.

If they have the choice really why would they really want to be over there. Their normal pool is just too inviting. They will have to suck it up soon enough and stay over there when Humphrey is deemed big enough to go in the big pool.

It is a good seperation yard though. And Im sure they enjoy it when they are over there.

Yeah, I remember when Nikita was locked in this yard while Inukshuk and Aurora were mating. I find they usually go to this yard to relax and nap.
