Home to a male and a female.
This appears to be an enormous exhibit for only a couple of animals and full credit to Cincinnati Zoo for debuting a wonderful new habitat. Other than the doors to the dens being able to be seen by the public there is not much to nitpick here and a large group of dogs would make it even more spectacular. Is there 4 new exhibits this summer? Lions, bat-eared foxes, African wild dogs and the antelope savanna?

There are three because the lions debuted last year.

3 new exhibits, everything you said BUT the lions. That opened last year along with the added Cheetah exhibit:)

Until the male that is recommended to breed with our female arrives, there will only be one dog on exhibit at a time, and I definitely agree, a larger pack would really allow for the exhibit to truly shine. That said, I was genuinely impressed by the exhibit when I first toured it this evening. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it's superbly done.

Many of the docents said there were currently two, a male and a female.

That's correct, but the current pair is not recommended to breed, and thus they cannot be housed together and will rotate on and off exhibit. They are held in close proximity off-exhibit so that they can still have that companionship of another dog, but they will be in the same space at the same time. The male that's on the way from the Franklin Park Zoo is recommended to breed with our female, and they will eventually be on exhibit together.

And just some specifics about our dogs... The male's name is "Haka" and he is from the Brookfield Zoo; he was born 9/14/12 and currently weighs 64lbs. Our female's name is "Imara", and she is from Oglebay's Good Zoo; she was born 9/30/12 and currently weighs 54lbs. The male that is soon to arrive from the Franklin Park Zoo is named "Brahma"; he was born 10/16/06 and weighs 78lbs.

This is actually a very impressive looking enclosure and I agree that a small pack would be perfect for this. Kudos to Cincy and I must admit I was expecting something much smaller than this so good work on their part.
