The chimpanzee exhibit at Kansas City Zoo is 3 acres in size, set in a lush jungle, and it is absolutely amazing. There are huge viewing windows in an air-conditioned room for the public, and a paradise on the captive side for the other apes!
well, that's all I can say. Is it really necessary to say more? That may not be the most beautiful zoo primate exhibit ever (although the open areas are fantastically and lushly planted), but I think it really captures the chimpanzee's habitat.

There are fifteen of the apes. Most of the troops usually travels around the outskirts of the exhibit (patrolling maybe?). This takes about 20-30 minutes, so if you hang aroung for a little while, you can see some. They don't really ever hide in the back.
Fantastic. But Good God why add the freakin' tire to this beautiful forest?! A total lack of imagination and taste on the part of someone is evident here...
