Did I mention your name? No, I mentioned Moebelle...????
And there really is no need for the gallery to be updated every week unless the zoo continues to change on a weekly basis!

(I'm getting deja vu here!)

To be fair we Californians do put a lot of photos into the LA Zoo and San Diego Zoo galleries quite often.

This comment thread now has nothing to do with the photo it is attached to. To get back on topic, does anybody know what species of dik dik it is? Is it a Kirk's as Brum hypothesized?

Judging on nasal structure, I'd venture it's a safe bet that it is part of the Kirk's cluster of Dik-Diks.

Of the multiple species, only a handful have ever been seen in captivity. Groves and Grubb taxonomy changes much of what we know. Of the animals in captivity in the US, there are Smith's (Madoqua (guentheri) smithi) and Cavendish's (Madoqua cavendishi) (formerly a subspecies of Kirk's). The easiest way to tell the difference is that the Gunther's group has an extremely long proboscis while the Kirk's group has a much shorter one.

yes, my fault. It's funny what an off-the-cuff joke can do isn't it.

Yeah, you should have made a better joke, like "didn't justin timberlake sing a song about this?"

I only know Justin Timberlake as that albino kid from N'Sync, so I had to google his song list to find out which title.
