Dilophosaurus

February 2011: Dilophosaurus
Unfortunately, Jurassic Park ruined an entire genus of dinosaur. Actually, two come to think of it.

I think the whole theme of this temporary exhibit was that dinosaurs invaded a city, or something. I can't remember it exactly, but that wasn't the theme one would hope for...

Oh yeah. Can you see them dancing and singing ("Thriller, Thriller night"):)
YES! I was wondering what sort of zombie it was reminding me of, and it is exactly like the ones from Thriller (well, if they were dinosaurs).

Yup. That film and that book are among by favourites ever but I still have to consciously suspend the urge to criticise whenever Velociraptor or Dilophosaurus turn up.

Within the film and the book, it's science fiction at the end of the day and no big deal, but it is annoying when the 'spitting' dilophosaur carries over into zoo/dino park displays (somehow they seem wise to the Velociraptor-actually-being-Deinonychus issue, which makes it even more annoying when the Dilophosaurus spits!).

At least they don't usually give them frills though...
