I would say yes, maybe equal with raccoon dog. But I knew where to find the raccoon dogs whereas the hog badgers were completely random so I think that makes them top. Especially because I wasn't ever expecting to see them in daylight!

Well I'm suitably impressed! Lucky you, I would happily trade (at least) a finger to see a wild hog badger or either of the two canine species you've seen recently.

@Chlidonias: you mentioned that you watched this hog badger for an hour, and I'm curious as to where you were in proximity to the animal. Were you in a hide of some sort or was this photo taken from fairly far away? Wasn't it cold?
