In March a highland Streaked Tenrec was onshow about 5 minutes walk from where I live, at the Staffordshire Exotics club meeting. It just happened to be the day I was going to Woburn.
It's a pet shop-cum-garden centre with a big reptile and aquatics section as well (I go in there for crickets for my lovely little fire-bellied toads!). Latterly they have a few weirder psittacines as well (Plum-headed Parakeet being one).
The small mammals are pretty dull and usual most of the time but every so often go a bit mad - they usually have African Pygmy Hedgehogs, and have had Steppe Lemming in the past. Today, as well as the tenrecs (quite visible, curled up asleep under a bit of cork bark) there were also Harvest Mice and Pachyuromys duprasi.
