I'm not sure how I feel about animals such as these being advertised in the way that you might publicise having a few hamsters available.... Hopefully the price would deter anyone other than someone who really knew what they were doing.

As a further little coda to this - I've been in again today and they now have tenrecs of four species - Tailless Tenrec (£400 each), Greater Hedgehog Tenrec (£300 each), and both Lowland and Highland Streaked Tenrec (at £900 a pair again).
Highland Streaked Tenrecs I'd never seen before, so that was nice! (they even woke up and moved about!)
African Pygmy Dormice and Sugar Gliders have also appeared since last time.
I took the short trip up to the Garden Centre* yesterday and can confirm that they're still currently holding all the aforementioned species. Whilst only the Highland Streaked were active I managed to see all four species (Lowland barely, but enough for a "tick" ). They also had an enclosure labelled for Lesser Hedgehog Tenrec but it appeared empty.
How strange that the best selection of Tenrecs on show in Europe (or anywhere?) seems, temporarily, to be a pet shop in Chesterfield.
*The herp, invert and aquatic sections were also better than quite a few of the smaller UK zoos I've visited (although the aquatic section was nowhere near the size of the similar, and very roughly, nearby Wharf Aquatics). There was also a nice little cafe (which Wharf doesn't have) which served a fine slice of Cranberry & Orange cake).
In conclusion, if you're within easy driving distance it's well worth the run out, especially if doubled up with Wharf, for a free, largely non-mammal, "zoo fix" for only the cost of the petrol.
If only Chesterfield were a little nearer, or cheaper to reach on the train much as I would love to see the two Streaked species, £77.50 is a little steep a price to pay!
