Didn't this exhibit use to hold Sika deer (Cervus nippon), Indian muntjac (Muntiacus muntjak), Reeve's muntjac (Muntiacus reevesi)? I remember this being the case on my last visit to Oakland Zoo in 2007.
Also, are there plans to revamp this space and do anything with it? There are some deer or because of the sloping even caprine species that I think could fit in this exhibit nicely.
So this particular exhibit is a bit odd in person as it has a bit of a small viewing area and almost unnoticeable look to it. I have always wanted it to be revamped for the chimpanzees but as for a new species maybe a tapir species or a red brocket mixed species exhibit. Last I have heard they are still discussing what to do with the space but no plans yet.
