Circus Knie is the national circus of Switzerland and also has a zoo and a circus museum in the town of Rapperswil close to Zurich. They travel the country but I do not know if they travel abroad as well.

It's not my circus and I'm sure elephants are treated worse in many other circuses. They are not chained, the one in the foreground seems to be but she is just having a sip of water and the trainer seems relaxed. They are all females.
The Common Hippo I cannot comment on, certainly in the past, especially considering that they travel with large animals even today, while many circuses that still dare to exhibit animals will limit themselves in size to dogs only.
Regarding the White Rhinoceros, it is still alive but no longer travels with the circus. I have seen it and will post photos later. It is now retired and living at the zoo they run in the town of Rapperswil. A gentle creature and obviously used to people, it would hang out by the fence to be scratched by the visitors.
i love how zoos feel the need to put up huge ugly fences to keep eles in and this circus manages to do it with 4 pieces of wire and a guy in a chair....

Can't be worse than many of the elephant houses I have seen in my days. They are all young cows and I think one older cow. She helps the trainer keeping the others at bay
