Snowleopard exhibit

The best snow leopard exhibit that I've ever come across. There are steep, rocky cliffs where the cats can blend in quite impressively to the landscape.

I'm trying to get an idea of how large this is.

For instance, can the cats rest in the cave at the top of the clifface on the left? Or are they too big to fit inside it?

The cats can rest inside the cave, and there are viewing windows to the left of this photo. The cool thing about the exhibit is that it is extremely steep in comparision to most other snow leopard enclosures, and the animals are tough to spot as they blend into their environment.

That's a good sized exhibit!

Thanks!

Stunning any time of year, but I bet gorgeous in winter snow. (I hope to find out for myself one of these winters).

@Arizona Docent: If you really cross the ocean, then sent me a message or write it here in the chat in advance. I'm working in Zurich and I could lead you thru the zoo if you want.

Great. What I really want is to see it in snow, but I did a Google search last night on Zurich and found it does not get as much snow as other parts of Switzerland. I had hoped that a random trip in January or February would guarantee snow on the ground, but apparently that is not the case. Not that I have any money to travel right now anyway, but I will keep you in mind.

You should see port lympne wild animal park there exhibit is much larger and has a nice rocky area.

What kind of barriers are used here? If this is open topped, do a typical chainlink with an indent fence keep them in?
