@Batto
I honestly don't see a big deal in commiting a mistake with one letter of the word, but ok, I was wrong in this. By the way, locate Itatiba wherever you want. It only has one real location, and that won't change anything o_O
And I actually don't understand why you specified the zoo is in Austria, as we already knew and mentioned it. Me, and I believe @Onychorhynchus coronatus, have perfect knowledge that Austria and Germany are two different countries. Geography is well taught in brazilian schools by the way ;)

@David Matos Mendes Geography might be taught well in Brazilian classrooms, but humor, lighthearted joking and reading between the lines apparently isn't. Or you were absent on the day when it was on the curriculum. And now you have, of all things, a German lecturing you on humor and joking; as if 2014 wasn't bad enough! O tempora, o mores. ^^
Zoo Schmiding has one real name and one real location as well, and thanks to my not too serious jibe, both you and your fellow countryman @Onychorhynchus coronatus won't forget it now. Speaking of the latter (whose differentiation between Austria and Germany is apparently not perfect ^^): let him brief you on me and my "Teutonic humor", as he calls it, to avoid further misunderstandings.;)

@Batto
Just to let it clear, and not with the intention to offend anyone, but I definitely don't care about soccer stuff, as I don't even watch games, so world cup is one thing that contributes nothing for my person, nor for the way I see my country and others.

I can't read between the lines when I don't know the intonation the person is actually speaking... Specially because your jokes were not clear enough. By the way, I enjoy much more studying culture, fauna and flora of different nations, instead of their humor particularities. In the end, if I misinterpreted any of your topics that weren't supposed to be serious, I apologize.

On my side, I leave clear that I know perfectly where German and Austria are, but I unfortunately don't know enough of german idiom to write it correctly, probably same as a non speaking german would write in portuguese. In any case, I thank you for the correction. I thought I would be able to write the place's name just by photographic memory of it's spelling, wich I have seen quite a few times, while I should have at least read it's name on the top of the post.

Anyway, let's just forget it, as it won't take us anywhere.

Returning to the marmosets, I found it really weird that Schmiding misidentified them on the signs. Agree with @Onychorhynchus coronatus here. All this seems to make no sense.

@David Matos Mendes Batto has a dry and ironic sense of humour, very Teutonic indeed, so trust me his post really wasn't really meant to be taken seriously or as an insult or anything like that but rather in good humour.

@Batto Yes, it can sometimes be difficult for Brazilians in understanding underlying irony or humour in written English but because the way of expressing these are different in Portuguese so I think that is probably what happened in David's case.

In the South of Brazil for example there is a lot of German immigration and communities of German ancestry / diaspora and to some extent there are commonly cultural misunderstandings between these and the rest of Brazil because of the differences in the cultural way of communicating.

@David Matos Mendes Outside of the US, it's football, not soccer. And apparently, you know enough about it to get the reference... ^^
Maybe you should study national "humor particularities" beyond intonations as well to avoid future misunderstandings(sic) and misinterpretations. Anyway, apology accepted. And why shouldn't a mute German be able to write in Portuguese, if he studied the language well? My bad - joking again.

As for the "Mystery Marmosets of Schmiding" - I could ask around...

@Batto
As I'm not aware to this sport, they could have switched it's name to bubble gum here in Brazil that I wouldn't be aware of it. :D:D
Mistaken again, I realized that I wrote "non german speaker" and would correct it to "germans who don't speaks portuguese" before posting, but my brain fooled me :oops: ha ha.
It's not that I take things too serious. I understood you weren't being completely serious about some of the topics since the begining, as I obviously knew you weren't literally suggesting that you would change Itatiba to Uruguay, but I honestly couldn't spot in wich point the irony started and finished in some of your other sentences, and I have to admit I thought you were being a little more agressive than you actually were... Each place and individual has it's kind of humor and way to present their thoughts, and there's nothing wrong with this, I confess :).
