... I actually agree with you and I don't think that Noah's Ark is an appropriate image for a zoo. However, each to their own beliefs.

Absolutely, each to their own beliefs - we don't want a thought police state. When you open a zoo to promote those beliefs and charge the public those beliefs also become open to criticism, subject to law and legislation.

It is clear that Noah's Ark Zoo Farm is set up to attract the public with animals and expose them to his beliefs while they are there. Animals and conservation are not it's primary aims.

There is a very simple and logical answer to this "information" board based on overwhelming scientific evidence: true!

I think they are entitled to their opinions, I just think its a disgrace that that there trying to stuff it down our throats!

yes they are entitled to their opinions Paix, but why is it "a disgrace that there (sic) trying to stuff it down our throats"? As far as I understand it, this is a Creationist zoo. I mean, its called Noahs Ark Zoo Farm - you know before even setting foot through the gate that its a Creationist zoo, so if that offends you then don't visit. Its like going to a church sermon and then complaining that its too preachy. At a mainstream zoo this signboard would be unacceptable to most visitors, but obviously not at this particular establishment.

I do wonder how it squares with the educational obligations of zoo licensing though.

Personally I do not think the name gives an automatic view point that the Zoo is indeed a Creationist Zoo... Zoo's sometimes have names that will draw in the visitors and will appeal to kids. Just because it has the Name Noahs Ark it doesnt give such an impresion, for example, Chester Zoos (yes I am comparing the two) logo is indeed Noahs Ark, should I then think Chester is a creationist zoo before entering?

EDIT: Aswell, Noahs Ark is not a place of Worship. When Jehovahs Witnesses come knocking on my door trying to convert me, I consider that A disgrace, where as if I visited their place of Worship, I could understand their efforts to convert me. It is the same for a Zoo, if I visited a Church I could understand it yet a zoo, which is meant to EDUCATE people, I could not.

A very good point actually. Chester also has a Ark Restaurant and Ark Shop (and a Play Ark).

The 'Ark' metaphor for zoo conservation is quite widely used, come to think of it.

personally I don't consider it a disgrace if Jehovah's Witnesses come knocking on my door, simply an annoyance - but if you were already visiting their place of worship then surely you wouldn't need converting, otherwise why would you be there in the first place? That's why they come knocking on peoples' doors.

This zoo may not be a place of worship per se but it is still representing the belief systems of the owners and (presumably) staff. They could quite legitimately argue that they are educating the visitors, whatever non-Christians may think to the contrary.

Presenting ideas that can be proved wrong as truth is not legitimate education.
