@Onychorhynchus coronatus I'm not sure if this sign is still on show at Exmoor and I don't know whether the plans it outlines have changed or not. Neunkirchen received a pair shortly after Exmoor put their males on show, I believe that their pair have bred. All the animals in Europe were imported privately (but entirely legally of course) and I don't know how many animals are now in private hands. I suspect that the pandemic may have slowed progress and other factors may have changed as well. I am sure Jersey could do a good job with these animals, but I don't know if they are interested in any way.
@gentle lemur Thank you for your comment, much appreciated!
Well it is good to hear that they are increasing within European zoos as I do believe they would benefit from ex-situ populations but I really think it would be quite disappointing if Jersey didn't end up holding this species considering their work and focus in Madagascar.
