fishing cat exhibit

April 28, 2013. The one photo friendly small cat exhibit in the park. Other remaining small cat exhibits were a letdown (set back 20 feet from guardrail). One entire section of exhibits labelled small cats on the map have been demolished and replaced with a rope challenge course! Compared to my previous two trips to Port Lympne (which I like a lot), Howletts is a huge disappointment and I would never step foot in there again.

This is probably my favourite Small Cat Enclosure at Howletts as it suits the Fishing Cats really well.

The hyenas @ port lympne are a real struggle to see. I spoke to a keeper and he said you can only see 1 male brown hyena and he only comes out in late afternoon. Even if he did come out, i doubt the truck would stop anyway! The others are all off show, but he said they are planning on sending the to South Africa

All very disappointing then! Shame they wont send them to another UK zoo, as they clearly dont appear to have much interest in letting the public see such a rarity.
