The large trees are hotwired, but there are loads of tall grassy areas that are available for the gorillas. The exhibit is quite large and like everything else at North Carolina Zoo it is borderline outstanding.
Its a shame they are hotwired,why zoo's with a low gorilla count dont rotate hotwired trees,i will never know.
That said,if there are ample opportunities for them to climb then its not a problem for me and lawd knows the hotwire here is more appealing than the "Angel Hair" that is Zoo Atlanta
I seriously look forward to visiting N.Carolina Zoo next year,it seems to be an up and coming zoo with plenty of space to develope even more interesting attractions.
