Having only seen little penguins for my entire life and then seeing kings and gentoos earlier this year I was shocked at how big they are. Maybe people overseas are more used to seeing bigger penguins and take it for granted that that is how big penguins are.

I was similarly amazed when visiting Great Southern Oceans for the first time last week, and saw the model of an emperor penguin. I was impressed by Melbourne Aquarium's kings... but the emperors are obviously huge birds.
