The exhibit consists of two enclosures. Roughly two thirds is for the two females, whilst the other third is for the male. In my opinion, this is too small for a new Lynx enclosure, expecially the male's section. October 2009.
Finn died a long time before we had this new enclosure built and we had these two. We've only ever had two lynx in that enclosure.
Thankyou Riziki. As keepers we are working very hard to remove the bad image that Dartmoor Zoo has had. And vast improvements have been made! However, we are working on a very tight budget and so any improvements to enclosures we make will be very small and over a long period of time. The lynx enclosure is a work in progress and will be improved along with the rest of the zoo as more money comes in. The only way this can happen is if we get continued and increasing support from the public so we can make the changes that people on here keep saying we need to make.
