ringtailed lemur and collared lemur mixed exhibit, note no wire between visitors and animals
Lesser Vasa Parrots, Ring-Tailed Lemurs, Collared Lemurs, Grey-Headed Lovebirds, Red Fodys, Radiated Tortoises, and Ring-Tailed Mongoose (actually might be a separate exhibit) all inhabit this exhibit currently.

This species list completely explains the lack of leaves on many (any?) of the plants. And the mongooses are most definitely in a separate but visually-linked exhibit. Next time you are there, take note of the mirror on the right side of the mongoose area, a brilliant way to visually expand the perceived space. I believe Couas are also in the main Spiny Forest habitat with the lemurs.

The species list wasn't to explain the lack of leaves on the plants (which there are some leaves as I was there just a few days ago and there were several plants with leaves and I even posted a picture of a Ring-Tailed Lemur peaking through some big leaves in this gallery), I was responding to the original description of the photo which only mentions the lemurs in this exhibit (and back then that might have been all that was in there along with the tortoises) so I was listing the other animals inhabiting this exhibit. And, yes, the Crested Coua are in this exhibit as well. I figured the mongoose were in a separate exhibit but never investigated enough to notice that there was a mirror. Quite a nice touch on the zoo's part if I do say so myself.

Yes, but also the less than ideal growing conditions for these plant species. They would be challenged even without the animals. They are mere temporary decor with the animals. But that is normal
