Agree. The zoo already has them, but in a small and not really good exhibit next to the lions. And the zoo also has mongolian wolfs in not the best enclosure, which has only two small viewing areas for the visitors.
Yes this was one of the biggest disappointments of Zurich. I still don't know why the zoo exacly decided to do a exhibit for these species (and yes, as I know the gazelles can use the camel exhibit too, the old one will stay as it is). This area has 2000 square meters, there is a Przewalski's herd in Langenberg. Zurich and Langenberg work together. About the pallas cat, yes the exhibit wasn't the best, so the zoo decicded to hold a other species. The exhibit will be renovated and be used by a unknown species (and as you know it can be a really long time till they'll have a new species...).
Yes, I would have liked to have seen a bit more integration of the other Mongolian type species - all mentioned above (except for the Przewalskis as Langenberg is essentially the European wildlife / natural park and maintains the Zuerich herd).
I can understand though why they would want yurt and over-night here. Cash income generation is part and parcel of this exhibit.
