@JigerofLemuria It’s very blurry but there is one hidden behind the tree closet to the pheasant and there’s a second ones to the right of the pheasant.
They were down to one female two years ago, as far as I know. Local zoo nerds even reported that this animal died and the species disappeared from Europe. Subulo gouazoubira is very popular in Brazil and I am very happy to see that new animals have arrived in Spain and they are still around. Itatiba probably ?
@twilighter I'd say so. Animália or SP could also be an option, but I'm not aware of them sending any of their brockets to zoos outside Brazil. But I'm not aware of Itatiba doing the same, so that leaves me somewhat unsure.
According to Faunia Madrid's thread in the Spain forum, there's no news of any new arrivals, but if anyone has that info, please share if possible!
@British explorer when I visited earlier this year this exhibit just housed muntjacs and a common pheasant, and the brocket deer was meant to be in the "Bosque Templado" walkthrough (confirmed by a keeper since I didn't see it). And for what I'm seeing in this picture the most visible animal looks like a muntjac. Are you sure you didn't just confuse the animals?
I'm pretty sure that Faunia hasn't suddenly obtained another brocket deer.
@SivatheriumGuy I think you’re right but this enclosure had no visible signage and because they’re listed on Zootierliste I just assumed they were housed in this enclosure. I am sorry if I have caused any confusion.
