It's true: There are 3 female Kakas left in Stuttgart. And the sad thing is, that it seems to be impossible to import some males or even some eggs. They tried, but New Zealand doesn't let any Kakas out of the country. I've heard that Kakas are breeding really well in captivity in NZ - so good in fact, that they have to destroy some eggs to avoid overpopulation. I don't know if that is true, but if it is, I find it even more inscrutable, that they wouldn't sent some birds or fertile eggs to Stuttgart. Wilhelma Zoo has bred Kakas before and is not unexperienced in that matter.
Re the yellow-headed amazons: It's pretty cool to see (and hear) the birds in the parks and gardens of Stuttgart, right in the heart of the city.
