@ColumbusZoo001: what is the date of the opening of Asia Quest? Of course now there is a small hut that is elevated off the ground and serves as the shelter for the red pandas, and the vegetation has grown considerably since this photo was taken.
Don't look at the pic info for dates - I dont know why its screwed up. Asia Quest opened in two phases, like everything else here. Phase One (Sun Bear Outdoors, Pandas, Pheasants, Markhor, Pallas Cat, Tiger) opened on June 21, 2006 and Phase Two (Deer, Cranes, Sun Bear Indoor, Bats, Water Montior, Fluffy, Langur) opened on November 3, 2006.
There are many excellent red panda exhibits all over the world, as they are a fairly easy mammal to design an enclosure for. The Bronx Zoo has an outstanding exhibit in the Himalayan Highlands area of the zoo, but I think that the largest red panda exhibit that I've ever seen is this one at the Detroit Zoo. It is maybe 50% the size of the actual enclosure...

since neither this exhibit nor the detroit one (judging from the photos) has raised tree-level viewing, something i would consider important for an arboreal species - nor looks anything like what i have seen of red panda habitat in the himalayas, something that seems odd given the climatic similarities between the temperate himalaya and northern states of the US - i don't pay either of them.
