It would probably have to be for an African species if they did get something other than sand cats since this is in the African section and all of the other small exhibits in the lion house (Gundis, Naked Mole Rats, and Barbary Striped Grass Mice) are African.
It also seems a bit small (indoor area especially) for anything much bigger than a Sand Cat (eg. Serval and Caracal would be obvious other options).
