Part of Zoo Boise's conservation efforts. Working with Idaho Fish and Game southern Idaho ground squirrels are bred here and research is performed to discover the habitat requirements of this ESA candidate species and it's ESA Threatened relative the northern Idaho ground squirrel. 2009
