@steveroberts Auckland’s tropical dome is interesting as they originally intended for it to house a multitude of turtles. Instead it just houses False gharial and fish. Turtles would enhance the tanks not housing the False gharial, but the False gharial are undeniably the stars and I don’t think the general public would pay much attention to the turtles in any case.
Wow thats interesting, had no idea that different tropical turtle species were initially the intended residence of the tropical dome (its a super impressive concept though), but yeah cannot deny that am one hundred percent team Sunda gharials (and think some of the fish species are cool too; would of been cool if some turtle species there too, even if only a few people appreciated, but not criticising their absence as there would be a reason they could not be there also, though wonder if perhaps at least one turtle species will make an appearance eventually).
@Zoofan15@steveroberts Re. Tuatara. I have seen it a few times, always in the same spot (under a log in the middle of the exhibit; there is a heat lamp there).
