One of the strangest looking brds I've ever seen, Transylvanian Naked-neck Chicken

Walton Hall Childrens' Zoo 3rd November 2012
"Transylvanian Naked-neck Chicken" is the greatest name for an animal breed ever.

I think this is a case where the name of the breed is its most notable trait and possibly the reason some people keep them, rather than the appearance of the birds themselves.

and that weird woolly-coated pig from Hungary (I think?).

Mangalitza. They have appeared in the UK in numbers now and are on exhibit in some farm parks etc as well as privately owned.

I believe they(or some strains anyway) contain genes of the extinct UK breed- the Lincolnshire Curly Coat, which was sent into Europe for crossing with their Curly coat breeds but then died out in the UK- just a few years too late to be saved by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust.
