Frankly speaking I would prefer baby walrus is born in Germany because enclosures and exhibits in Hagenbeck Tiegarten better than our zoo has, and - the most important - our zoo is very young (it was opened in September 2008) and it hasn't enough experience. This is my personal opinion.
About "hybrid"... I don't know can this word be used in this case (same species, different subspecies) but maybe male will be O.r. rosmarus too. I've read that your zoo is looking for the bull (is that right word for pinniped male?) for her, and I heard something about it here. I will write soon about our walruses in topic "Walrus currently in captivity".
