After a couple hours, our zoo director had to stand out front and turn people away. Free day was sponsored by Tucson Unified School District, which had tables and demonstrations set up all over. October 9, 2010.
Trust me, no one on staff likes it and everyone at the zoo would love to do away with free days. Unfortunately, we are owned by the city and the city says we have to do it (at least that is my understanding).
