On July 10th, the zoo announced they acquired a (0.1) common warthog named Makena from San Antonio Zoo in Texas, and will go on display in the former striped hyena exhibit in the upcoming weeks.

On July 11th, it was announced that a meerkat was born on March 28th*.

On September 5th, the zoo announced that 2 more meerkats were born sometime in spring, which are off-show. The zoo also announced that the Small Animal Kingdom building will reopen October.

On September 9th, the zoo announced they acquired a male (1.0) Nepalese red panda named Twix from Idaho Falls Zoo in Idaho in August temporarily, to be transferred to a different facility in the future.

On November 14th, it was announced that the zoo transferred Twix to Happy Hollow Park & Zoo in California.
