The zoo is shome to a single Asian elephant, named Lucy. This sign, at the entrance to her house, explains her whereabouts. The house itself is currently off-limits due to COVID-19 and Lucy's health.
Tried to use the leaves in the foreground as a short of frame for the photo. As I've mentioned before, elephants are a bit of a photography nemesis for me because I do not know how to handle a subject that takes up that much space so its kind of hard to come up with ways to photograph them.
This shot isn't too interesting in terms of expression, and I wish I had stuck around longer so I could capture something a little more impressive but I liked the orange sunlight on the elephant and the way I used depth of field for the composition so I figured I'd share it.
Elephants are an animal I struggle with photographing because their extreme size makes it hard to work with in terms of space for me but it can be fun when I get into it. The way they use their trunks can make for some great photos.

As some of ZooChat may know I am a HUGE fan of Siam (1946-1997), the massive, legendary Asian tusker that used to live in the Paris Zoo and since 2001 can be found in the Musee National D'Histoire Naturelle in the Jardin Des Plantes, a 15-minute walk from Notre Dame. He was an incredible animal...
