Champion hunters of the savannah and rainforests, these are the most widespread of all big cats in Africa, to which they can carry prey that’s twice their body weight, and are extremely stealthy hunters when stalking their prey.

One of Africa’s most iconic and dangerous crocodilians, best known for their powerful bite, sharp conical teeth that sink into the flesh of their prey, and especially their method of ambush to which they attack by surprise.

One of Africa’s four pangolins, these scaly anteaters are well known for being the only mammals whose scales cover up from head to tail, and dig burrows and feast on ants and termites in the African savannas and woodlands.

A nocturnal primate also known as the galago, these small prosimians are most active at night, popping out of the trees that they sleep during the day and are known for making calls resembling that of a human baby’s cry.

The largest and most recognizable of all toucans, as they’re one of the best known Neotropical birds and most represented toucan, known for it’s massive yellow-orange beak with a black base and it’s black body and white throat, and makes frog-like vocalizations.

Smaller than their larger river cousins, the pygmy hippo is reclusive and nocturnal, as the live in the forests and swamps of west Africa. Sadly, they’re endangered from habitat loss and hunting for bushmeat, and are very difficult to study in the wild.

One of the world’s weirdest mammals found im the island of Sulawesi in Indonesia, to which due to their prehistoric like appearance, they are called the pig deer by the locals in the Malay language.
One of the most common and geographically widespread species of zebra found in Africa, recognized for their broader stripes, and are commonly found in large social herds where they keep an eye out for predators.
One of Africa’s most recognizable antelope with broad shoulders, herds of millions travel across the Serengeti every year to feast on the grass while following the seasonal rains.
One of Africa’s most elegant birds, to which they’re found in the Okavango Delta, and are one of the largest cranes in all of Africa, easily recognizable from the red patches on their face.
One of the smaller of the two African rhino species, the other being the white rhino, to which they have hooked lips to help browse on the leaves of bushes and trees.
One of the largest and most powerful wild cattle found in Asia.
Timid and shy despite their great size and power, the gaur is powerful enough to charge through the jungle at a surprising speed, and overpowers the tiger which is the natural predator of the gaur.
Condors are arguably my favorite birds of prey, and the Andean Condor is no exception because they’re the national symbol of Peru, which is the country of origin of where I’m from.
Easily one of my favorite reptiles considering they’re the world’s largest lizard only found in the island of Komodo in Indonesia.

Best known as the only living relative to the giraffe, these animals are found in the Ituri Forest of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, to which it blends in perfectly with the brown and white stripes of it’s rump in the African rainforest.
