Hello everyone I’m wanting to become a conservationist, I know that there’s a lot of different conservationist but I would like to work in animals and the planet area I was hoping for a push in the right direction

So I saw this bird feeding in my backyard this month (March). And I assume it is a new world sparrow but I don't know what species. The bird has a little yellow on it's head which is why I am having difficulty figuring out. This was taken in New Jersey in March in my backyard. Thanks!
