Do zoos that keep primates have responsibility to educate human evolution?

The first thing creationists say is "Evolution is just a theory." Any science literate person knows the word they're looking for is hypothesis. Denying evolution is wrong. Do zoos that keep gorillas, orangutans, monkeys, lemurs, etc have a responsibility to educate the public about the role of...

Toledo Zoo Gibbon Missing Hair on Head?

Hello, I was just at the Toledo Zoo and I noticed one of the female northern white-cheeked gibbons was missing the fur on her scalp, which I’m not going to lie, concerned me a little bit. Why may this be? Is it a sign of sterotypic behavior, namely her pulling her fur out because of stress? Is...

    Ring-Tailed Lemur - March 2023

The Ring-Tailed Lemur (Lumur catta). It's devastating to think that such a charismatic, beautiful species is at such great risk, especially considering the fact they are endemic only to a small area in Southern Madagascar.

[May 2021] Fragile Forest- chimpanzee (Pan troglodytes) chewing

I had so many shots of this and it was so hard deciding which one to upload. I ended up going with this one because it shows how long the canine teeth really are and you can see inside the mouth pretty well.

[September 2021] Canopy Trails- mongoose lemur (Eulemur mongoz)

I had never even heard of these before I went to Canopy Trails for the first time but I ended up really connecting with this species. I was trying to be a bit experimental with this shot and I think it came out pretty neat. I like how the angle I used highlighted the fangs and fur texture.

Quite the scientific name this subspecies has, haha. I tried to frame him with the branches in the background and I think it came out quite nicely.
