Amneville will be an exciting destination - it is a great zoo - although isn't the pattern one year in germany, the next not?

There has never been such official pattern that one year in Germany another not in Germany and so on. Please see the list of all the meetings. But according to the very recent information the meeting in 2009 will not be in Amneville but somewhere in Germany. It will be our 20th meeeting -so quite a nice anniversary - isn't it? And the majority of Germ,ans collectors will want to celebrate this anniversary in Germany.

There was never any plan of mine to 'accuse' any nationality of not willing to cross its boarders. It just so happens that, before London 2001, there were really never more than 4-5 UK people attending, as far as I understand from others, because my first time was London, but that meeting must have been the inspiration, because nowadays UK attendants are, I'm sure, never less than 10 and perhaps close to 15 at times, especially when the meeting is held in cities cheap and easy to access, like Berlin and Hamburg. As Leszek said before, there is no rule, pattern, or whatever you like to call it, of holding it in Germany, but, having said that, that a) 50-60% of the attendants have usually been German and b) decision on the next location are by voting, it comes as logic that Germany wins most often. As the only Icelandic attendant (and that will not change soon) I could never win the meeting over to Reykjavik, not that I ever attempted to try in the first place, because it gives me a reason to venture over to Europe and see some zoos

Dear All,
The 19th International Meeting of the Collectors of Zoo Literature and Memorabilia is over. There were on the list 43 participants from 10 countries (Belgium, Czech Rep., France, Germany, Holland, Iceland, Poland, Switzerland, UK and USA) so not as much as the last year in Hamburg (circa 100). The reason was that some of German collectors did not come because they apparently felt discriminated as I used to send all information exclusively in English. But really I do not worry about that. I said I prefer quality over the quantity.
Anyhow you may already heard that our honour guest was Ken Kawata from USA. He spent with us some more days but eventually he took active part in the meeting as well. He dontaed very unusuall stuff (Japanese and American alike) for the auction. The total income from the auction is nearly 800.00 Euro and will be soon donated to EAZA Amphibian Campaign.
The very good information is that as the place for the next meeting in 2009 the zoo in Amneville (France) was proposed and accepted.

It was a great meeting, I enjoyed it really, as like as I enjoyed the beautyful Wroclaw Zoo.

I've got a lot new and old guides and had a lot of interstesting talks with nice and interesting people.
