2011 was bad year for African elephant poaching.

It feels like its time for zoos to crank up the anti-poaching and anti-ivory campaigns like they did in the late 1980s. The difference here I guess is that much of the ivory trade is going on in China where North American and European consumers don't have any influence.

The pangolin issue is really depressing. Zooish said in another thread that the Singapore Zoo has an anti-poaching campaign going for pangolin. I don't know if this could be cranked up throughout Asia, or how one would or could influence pangolin consumers there...it would be really good if someone were looking into how to do this. Is anyone?
