A piece of news I completely forgot about

0.1 Lowland Anoa has arrived and the anoas are back on their island.
 
A spiny hill turtle is on show in Realm of the Red Ape, failed to see a crocodils monitor for the second time in just over a week.

The Timor sparrows have chicks.

The window to the dwarf mongoose den has been boarded over.

The duckings I saw last week have been labelled as garganey.
 
Don't think it has been mentioned but the Northern Treeshrews in the Elephant house have bred, there were at least two young (they move too fast to count!) but I don't think they were born particularly recently judging by the size of them. In other unmentioned news, Tafari (female Okapi born last year) is now separated from mother Stuma and I'm pretty sure she has been for some time.

Only saw three young Rock Hyrax, it's quite possible that the fourth was out of view though.

The Red-Breasted Geese are no longer in the bird rearing aviary, it is just the Garganey and Marbled Teal now and they're all looking rather grown up as well.

The Black Rhinos in Europe thread states that Sammy is to move to Port Lympne - following in the footsteps of Asani and Rosie who have both made the move in recent years.

2 Tree Shrews were born at the beginning of the year, it's possible that the birth was not posted. If I didn't mention it it is because I forgot.

If they were born that long ago then it probably has received a mention somewhere, just thought I'd give it a mention because I haven't been in the Ele House for a while and didn't recall reading it either.

Saw this on Friday - only 1 that I could see though.

No clue how I have been missing it!

Only ever seen 3 everytime I've gone past in the last four weeks - I assumed there was only 3?

Tiger cubs are both very active - both were chasing mum around today and I got an excellent video!
Female serval likely on heat as saw them mating several times today.
Bushdogs also mating a lot.
Think the lions are too - though the male could just be being noisy for the sake of it!

Pretty much everything from today :)

I thought the female serval was already pregnant, did she lose her litter or maybe have a phantom which would explain her coming back into heat so quickly - or I was wildly wrong (along with several other people) about her being pregnant!! :D

We were either wrong or she had a still birth. Those are my best guesses and we will likely never know! But she is certainly in heat - or was - didn't see any mating today though possibly when they were both inside. Hadn't thought about phantom pregnancy..tis plausible though!


Also there is most definitely THREE red pandas in the enclosure - I do have bad quality photo evidence if anyone doubts me!
 
A couple of updates from today, pink-headed fruit dove is a nice addition to the bird collection. Currently a single male in the upper aviaries in the tropical realm. The pygmy marmosets have a baby.
