The Rats were the highlight of my visit.

They do not have mara at the moment, the last specimen died of old age

I hope to visit Blackbrook Zoo shortly and after what I have read on here and other sites I was wondering if anyone as an up to date list of species currently held by the collection please don’t put the off show species on the list.

I would go by Zooterliste but on my last few visits to collections the list seems to be well out of date unfortunately but I must admit I do find it very helpful when trying to find out what used to be at the collections in the past

Any help with current species on show would be extremely gratefully received

I am not sure if anyone knows exactly at the moment Adrian as the collection was being sold. I am not even sure if it is actually still open. As for the list that was on tierlist it was very out of date as they sold off some things to save themselves from bankruptcy a few years ago and the things were never removed. Hope this helps. I can remember most things that were there when we last visited but i am not sure like i said if it is open and what if any animals were left because as far as i know the animals were mainly all either sold, moved elsewhere or belonged to third parties

It is open, admission is £5. The cafe is closed.

A lot of birds have gone in between my visit in February and my visit in April.

On my last visit (27th April with Zoogiraffe) there was only one pelican, a Dalmatian. Most of the ediers have gone to Hillside, the Greater and Caribbean Flamingos have gone. No reptiles or amphibians are on show, I don't know if any are still there from your list. The reptile house is closed. We didn't see any go-away birds or owls. Ostiches have gone. Mongooses have gone. hornbills have gone. Pink-eared Ducks have gone. Rheas and Emu have gone.

Manor House *is* Tenby, and they have jointly applied for a zoo licence for Blackbrook with Jake Veasey (ex-Calgary, and before that Woburn) - presumably as the new owners.

All very intriguing !

I believe Colin MacDougal was in the restaurant trade before investing in Manor House . The food offering there is more interesting than most zoos , though constrained by what visitors expect .

I wonder where the finance for whatever is being planned at Blackbrook is coming from .
