The Master Plan graphic shown in the article is much more accurate. As far as I know the massive expansion shown in the original master plan did not have a lot of support from the city or the people of Des Moines. There are a lot of exciting things happening at Blank Park and after the first wave of projects is complete (Australia Renovations, Quarantine/Winter Holding Facility, Sea Lion Pool renovations, and a new African Savanna exhibit) this small zoo will have the long-needed face lift it deserves.
