Also, for a couple of years (i think in the 70s) the zoo map had an area corresponding to the current zebra paddock which was labelled "proposed new bear enclosures" which never happened, although the spectacled bears eventually ended up not too far away
Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee Garden....what is the official name for that area?
Can anybody guess what's the newest attraction in the Zoo?
(Apart from the new Jaguar revamp).
I don't think you will see to much in the way of building work,in the zoo next year if we are lucky we may see a few new species arrive in the zoo,but they will go in exsiting enclosures that will already be suitable for them.So I would say the next major thing we will se at Chester will be Islands. Can anybody guess what's the newest attraction in the Zoo?
(Apart from the new Jaguar revamp).
Have just realised there are 4 locations in the zoo in which you can see parts of old Bear enclosures not the previous stated 3!

Yes but atleast I had the ball's to admit I got it wrong and didn't just edit it to cover it up!!!Nothing like having a quiz master who doesn't know the answers, happens down the local every week lol!

You have obviously met my local quizmaster! He never admits he is wrong lol.
I was an intermittent quiz master for some time at Uni. I was always very careful to word my questions with no ambiguity at all so no-one could argue back. The only time I ever allowed a correction was when I asked the length of a bail in cricket and the question was a little ambiguous as to if it meant one bail, or the pair of bails as set up on the wicket, so I gave the point for the answer I had or exactly twice it!
(I also once got a round of applause for my response another time someone argued - the question was:
What is the largest native wild cat in the Americas?
And someone tried argue that puma was a correct answer 'because they're the same thing as a jaguar'. Needless to say, after a brief lecture on felid taxomony they realised they were onto a loser with that one and backed down!)
