Alright... M it is.
This mammal is completely blind, having no eyes, and also lacks external ears. It is part of a genus known from two extant species, both found in the interior of the continent they are restricted to. Both parts of their general common name begin with M, one being shared with a larger group of mammals mostly restricted to the same continent.
What animal am I describing?
*Note: telling the continent would probably give this away, so I won't be telling.

Marsupial mole?

N
This bird is from the same habitat as the marsupial mole, and was thought extinct for over 60 years.
Night parrot?
Also if I do get this correct, apologies in advance as I will probably be asleep so I’d be responding tomorrow. That is, IF I get it right.

My animal beginning with O is a bird species native to the Yucutan Peninsula, as well as parts of Belize and Guatemala. This species was once considered its own genus.
